I was first introduced to mat and reformer Pilates as a young dancer around the age of eight. I continued Pilates as I trained six days a week in ballet and competitive dance styles including jazz, tap, and lyrical during my childhood. When I was in high school, I transferred to the Rock School for Dance Education on scholarship for three years. I spent my summers with the Bolshoi Ballet at their intensives in New York City. After my final year at the Rock, I began dancing with Atlanta Ballet, where I remained for two years, after which I quit dancing.

I enrolled in a History degree at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I exercised sporadically before finding yoga in my final year. During my last semester, I applied on a whim and got into a program at King's College London's Department of Digital Humanities.
A friend from Atlanta, Rika Brixie, lived in London and invited me to take a Pilates private focused on scoliosis with her when I arrived. I had been diagnosed with s-curve scoliosis when I was eight and wore a hard brace at night until the summer before I turned 16. Rika's sessions were the first time in my life that I was learning exercises to manage the chronic pain that can accompany a curvy spine as well as the first time I heard someone talk about a spine with scoliosis as a thing that can be beautiful. Through Pilates I found peace with my spine and movement. I also began dancing again.
I enrolled in the BASI Pilates teacher training program at The Pilates Clinic in Wimbledon in fall 2019. My UK student visa ended in January 2020 and I accepted an apprentice position with Chandler Joslin at Aledo Pilates in Texas where I taught until I was certified in October 2020. Since becoming a certified instructor, I have taught at multiple studio in Asheville, NC.
I started taking GYROTONIC® method privates in Asheville in 2021 with Leslie Myers. I completed Pre-Training with Alicia Parrish and Foundations with Donna Place at the beginning of 2023. I currently offer Gyrotonic sessions as an Apprentice. I love the Gyrotonic method because, in my experience, it opens up your heart, body, and mind to help you become more expansive and organic. I feel that the Gyrotonic method gives a freedom and ease to movement that I have not experienced elsewhere. I would love to share this practice with you.
